Day 2 down at this point and what a day.
With 26° temp in Kilkenny the ice-cream and drinks to keep all supports revived were in high demand.
The U14 boys played some superb hurling in both matches again the host O’Louglin Gaels winning the last game of Group by 10 points with the hope that the game of Durlas Óg v Mt Leinster Rangers would work in our favour but it was not to be with MLR losing to Durlas and thus resigning Sars to the Shield competition.
However Sars were now in full swing and with all to fight for now in the Shield they drove on with first up in the knock out at the QF stage Naomh Eanna from Wexford. Sarsfields winning this on a score of 5-5 to 3-2.
The Semi-Final now beckons at 11-:15 am in the morning with Craughwell from Galway the opposition.
Meanwhile our host O’Loughlin Gaels are still in contention with a local rivalry v James Stephens the opposition in the other Semi Final.
Our foes in the Group stages Durlas Óg and MLR were eliminated today - as we reminisce on the if’s and ands of yesterday.
Meanwhile the girls are flying and climbing new hills in Wexford having overcome St Martins in the morning final Group game they finished tops and went on this afternoon to eliminated Lucan Sarsfields in the QF in Bunclody.
Next up in the Semi Final will be Scariff/Ogonnelloe from Clare at 11:30 in Ferns on Sunday morning.
So our U14s are still in contention for Sunday and hoping it’s a good Cork day all-round tomorrow from Kilkenny to Wexford to Thurles.
