On Sunday 3rd Feb 2019 the Benchmarking Awards were presented to the clubs who were successful in their Benchmarking in 2018. This year Sarsfields achieved the Gold standard. Sarsfields were among 35 Gold clubs, 49 Silver Clubs & 33 Bronze Clubs receiving Benchmarking Status for 2018.
Cork Chairperson Tracey Kennedy welcomed all the club representatives and Coaching Officer to Pairc Ui Rinn were the presentations were made.
This Award is a recognition of the work and efforts of all Volunteers involved ensuring our club and the GAA within in the community is vibrant and relevant.
To achieve this Certification the club needed to meet a number of criteria including:
- Youth Player Coaching Plan - workshops for Youth player coaches
- Minimum games requirement for Youths
- Coach Education - Award 1 or Award 2 courses
- Physical development program
- Active Post Primary schools liaison officer
- Submission of the U13 for participation on Regional and County squads
Clubs who entered Benchmarking 2020 in 2018, will be eligible for the following benefits in 2019.
- Priority access to Pairc Ui Chaoimh Initiatives e.g. Monster Blitzes,Go Games Blitzes
- Eligibility to apply for U12 Croke Park Day
- Application for Half Time games of County & Club games in Cork
- Entry to the Hurling and Football Go Games Summer leagues
- Primary school Coaching and Games supports
- Club Support via Workshops and other initiatives run by Rebel Og Coaching
- Club bookings for Coach Education Courses (Foundation & Award 1)
